How to do trx chest press
- Hold the TRX handles with palms facing down, facing the anchor.
- Stand leaning forward with a rigid body: the incline of your body controls the difficulty.
- Brace your core and glutes keeping a straight line from head to heels.
- Bend your elbows lowering your chest toward your hands, keeping your arms close to your torso.
- Press back until your elbows extend without locking and squeeze your chest.
- Do 10-12 reps keeping the straps in tension.
Mistakes to avoid
- Do not let your hips sag or your body arch: TRX requires a firm core or your form collapses.
- Do not let the straps go slack: the ropes must stay taut during the whole range.
- Do not use such a steep angle that you cannot press up: adjust the incline to master the position.
- Stop if you feel shoulder pain and reduce the incline to find a comfortable range.
Progression
- Start upright with little incline: every week shorten the straps or move your feet away from the anchor to lower your body.
- Add 1-2 reps per week up to 15 clean reps with a straight line.
- Then progress to one arm, raise your feet, or add a 2-second pause at the bottom for more difficulty.
